NAME: Sansa Stark
CANON: Game of Thrones
CANON POINT: End of season 7
AGE: Around 19
HISTORY: Sansa Stark @ Game of Thrones Wiki
PAST GAME MEMORIES: n/a
PERSONALITY: Growing up in Winterfell, the eldest daughter of a great house, Sansa Stark truly believed in a world of honorable knights, of chivalry, romance and where ladies were loved by their betrothed and where Kings and Queens were noble and ruled fairly. She believed in true love and happily ever afters. Her experiences in King's Landing sadly forced her outgrow such things and to realize that the world is not like it is in the stories she heard growing up.
She was raised to be a lady by both her mother and Septa Mordane. Sansa flourished in what many considered "feminine virtues". She excelled in sewing, embroidery, singing and things that ladies were supposed to know. Over time Sansa has learned to be strong and do what she needs to in order to survive. While being betrothed to Joffrey, she had to renounce all of her familial ties after watching the horrifying beheading of her father. He humiliated her repeatedly, ordered her to be beaten and still she had to proclaim her loyalty, her love and her utter devotion to him.
Courtesies were one of the things she was taught growing up, and it is what has kept her alive. Though she despised Joffrey, she would often say how she loved him and prayed for his good health. Even when Tyrion asked if she wished her engagement to Joffrey to end, she professed her love for him. Tyrion said that she may survive them yet. She had to learn how to manipulate and lie in order to survive. And she's had to learn how to think quickly on her feet. At Joffrey's nameday celebration, she objected to Ser Dantos being killed, instead making Joffrey think that making him a fool would be a much better punishment for the offense Ser Dantos had given.
Having been in King's Landing has taught her a lot about who she can trust and made her wary of most people. She still does still try and see the best in people, and for a time still trusted those who showed her kindness. She trusted Lord Petyr Baelish for longer than she should have, but trusting him, ended up bringing her back to Winterfell despite the cruelties she had to endure in order to truly get there.
Her experiences have changed her personality, having to learn how say one thing but mean another. No longer naive and utterly trusting in those around her, she has become more ruthless, and her words more sarcastic and sharper. Though, this is more a defense mechanism than anything, but her words and actions can sometimes appear to border on cruelty - like when she told Theon that she was glad for what Ramsay did to him because of what he had done to her family. Or later when she told Lord Baelish that he didn't need to say anything and that she'd assume it was something clever.
Having suffered the abuse and cruelty of the Lannisters while in King's Landing and then the abuse and rape she goes through with her husband, Ramsay, she has become much stronger, more aggressive and less like the gentle lady she was raised to be. She moves with her half-brother Jon against Ramsay in order to reclaim the North and Winterfell. Once reclaiming Winterfell, Sansa allowed Ramsay to be fed to his own hounds, even smiling with grim satisfaction as it happened. She also shows a bit more of a vengeful side when she urges Jon to give the castles and lands of those who went against their family (the Karstarks and the Umbers having joined Ramsay against Jon during the battle of the bastards) and give it to those who had supported them. Though, she was smart enough to let things drop when Jon set his foot down and let the families keep their lands.
Once becoming the Lady of Winterfell and Jon's regent after he was named King of the North, she has devoted her time and efforts into maintaining, fortifying and preparing the North for winter. Being the lady of Winterfell, she's taken it upon herself to be fair yet firm and advises Jon not to make the same mistakes their father and brother Robb made. She has no problem voicing her opinions when she think Jon is making a mistake and she really doesn't like her authority within Winterfell being challenged. Knowing that Lord Baelish was attempting to once again divide her house and pit her against her sister, Arya, she plots with Arya to catch him off guard and then has him executed.
She does still have compassion though. After finding out that Theon didn't kill her younger brothers, she promised that she wouldn't allow Jon to execute him after Theon helped her escape her very abusive husband, Ramsay Bolton. She has also allowed herself to think of him as part of her family again.
Despite everything, Sansa is still a lady, her courtesy ,as always, is her armor and her sharp mind and wit are concealed by what many consider a beautiful face. While she might have started out as a young, trusting, naive victim, she has now become a young woman who has absolutely no desire to be used by others to gain power, a young woman who isn't afraid to stand up for herself or what she believes in, a young woman who has shown that she is more than capable of playing the game of thrones and surviving it.
POWERS/ABILITIES: She has no powers or "special" abilities, though she has great skills in sewing and embroidery. She makes her own clothing and it often rivals that which the women around her wear. Sansa tends to use her clothes to make statements so it isn't just about making something pretty or fashionable but its about subtly announcing where her loyalties lie and where her support is.
